Welcome!
Dear Families,
Welcome back to school with a very new type of learning! And welcome to 4th grade!! This is a year of many firsts, which we will work together to all learn. I am very eager to get to know your child, work with them, and take them to the next level.
A bit about me…I am married and have 2 children. My husband and I are once again empty nesters…. Our son Noah graduated from the University of Michigan and has just moved to Denver for his graduate program. Our daughter Hannah is now a senior at Michigan and Is studying kinesiology. Being a parent is the greatest gift in life! We also have 3 mini-doxies, named Daisy Duke…Crazy Daisy, Lazy Daisy, Oopsy Daisy… and her brother named Bo Duke…also known as BoBo, Botzart, Boseph, and several more! last year we added Archie to our family! He has a big personality and is such an adorable little monster!! They are incredibly funny, and they make us laugh daily!
This is my 27th year of teaching and am very committed to my career and your child. I love teaching and take this responsibility very seriously. As a product of UCS myself, we lived in Lincoln Meadows South where I went to Eppler Jr. High, and graduated from Utica High School. (All 3 of my younger brothers went to Wiley!!) I then went to Wayne State University, and then to Saginaw Valley for my Master’s Degree in Education.
It is my role as your child’s teacher to see that all students strive to reach their fullest potential. This year this is still the same. And more than ever, the educational experience relies on three vital points: the child, the parent(s), and the teacher.
As we begin this year, there are going to be so many questions. I will do my very best to be there to support you and your child as we learn together how to navigate through this new way of teaching and learning.
Through communication we can solve almost anything…I ask that you please communicate with me when your child Is struggling. I think one of the hardest parts for me, is not seeing my kids in person and being able to tell who needs support.
Each child and each family have a unique set of circumstance and challenges with how we will use technology this school year. Please know my heart will always be with helping your child and guiding them forward to find the confidence to work hard and grow.
Together, I believe we will find success!!
Sincerely,
Tracy Featherman

Parent & Student SurveyJust a few questions to try to get to know you all a little bit better! :-)
Please take a few minutes to answer these questions.

This is an absolute must for 4th grade.
Your username and password are the same as last year.
Please look at the sample photo to the left. Here is a sample of what you should see for each class when using a computer, which is recommended for best results.
Viewing on a cellular device is different, and has many more windows to work through. If possible, always use a computer to view grades.

Computers
Throughout the district, students have been given a Dell Laptop. As we have been using these in class for the past few years, many kids will be somewhat familiar. I, however, have used and Apple for the last 25 years! :-) So far it's going well, but I think the kids will be teaching me a lot of computer tricks! :-)
Please see the video attached. The district has created this for you and your child and is very helpful.
